Presentation examines the inner workings of non-contact laser measurement technology for maximizing productivity and leveraging it as key competitive differentiator
Vienna, Austria – November 11, 2013 – Beta LaserMike, a leading global provider of precision measurement and control solutions, will be delivering a technical presentation to the flexible packaging industry on the advantages of using non-contact length and speed measurement for process control at the 6th international Multilayer Packaging Films 2013 conference in Vienna, Austria on Wednesday, November 20 at 3:10 pm (Session 5, Testing & Inspection). The conference is located at the Imperial Riding School, Renaissance Hotel.
The technical presentation entitled "Using Non-Contact, Laser Length and Speed Measurements to Improve Process Control in Packaging Film Applications” will be presented by Christian Straka of Beta LaserMike. The presentation examines how accurate control of product length and speed of films and related materials have become increasingly important. The presentation also looks at how the flexible packaging industry has begun to focus on process optimization, quality control, improving manufacturing cost and achieving higher efficiencies. Manufacturers across the globe have widely adopted non-contact laser-based technology for a variety of production applications, including speed control during lamination and coating, the control of product cutting, as well as continuous length measurement at slitter/rewinder and doctor lines, to name just a few. This presentation also reveals how this proven technology works, how it is widely replacing error-prone contact-type methods, and providing manufacturers with measurement accuracies of better than +/-0.05% leading to significant production savings.
